OCTF Early Childhood Safety Initiative

Opportunity Description

The Ohio Children's Trust Fund (OCTF) is excited to announce the availability of funding to support prevention-focused organizations across Ohio in providing parent/caregiver education and concrete safety-related supports to low-income families. The OCTF has $185,000 in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funding available for the purpose of making eight (8) or more grant awards, between ten and twenty-five-thousand-dollars per award based on the request of the applicant. The OCTF is interested in funding service providers across the state to provide one-time parent/caregiver education consultations with eligible families and ensure access to concrete safety-related supports. To accomplish this, the OCTF is partnering with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) to expand the availability of existing resources for parents. By increasing the distribution of parent education materials related to infant and child safety as well as increasing access to concrete safety-related supports (i.e. cribs, pack and plays, car seats, booster seats, strollers, baby gates, baby monitors, bassinets, high chairs, toddler beds, sleep sacks, etc.) we can better support new parents, decrease risk factors related to infant and child mortality, and potentially prevent injury-related deaths.
