Organizes religious programs and worship services for all faith groups; conducts non-denominational services; administers Holy communion; provides 1: 1 pastoral counseling services to people with severe mental illness, ages 18 through geriatrics, their families and staff; conducts Spiritual Assessments; responds to Treatment Team and unit staff requests and maintains records and documentation; networks with community clergy to provide spiritual guidance to patients of various religious backgrounds; makes contact with community clergy to enlist clergy for patient visitation; develops procedures for chaplaincy program at ABH; makes regular visits to all patient living areas and attends patient social functions; provides clinical pastoral education to staff in the care, treatment and rehabilitation of patients; is involved in development and implementation of hospital-wide activities and participates in departmental and mandated in-service training meetings; serves on committees and teams. Estimate approx. 12 to 15 hours per week.
