College Apprenticeship Consortium
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) releases this Request for Grant Applications (RFGA) to select for award up to fifteen (15) state community colleges, public community colleges, or technical colleges statewide to become Registered Apprenticeship (RA) sponsors as part of the College Apprenticeship Consortium Project (Project). This Project aims to pilot a simplified college-based point of entry process that seamlessly provides increased opportunities for participants and employers to engage in recognized pre-apprenticeship and RA programs. An RA sponsor is a single entity that executes, and is responsible for, compliance with all state and federal requirements for a group of multiple employers. RA sponsors develop a comprehensive program plan, otherwise known as “program standards” in collaboration with, and agreed upon, by all employers that partner with the RA sponsor. Selected applicants will provide program administrative oversight and classroom training for participants within the occupational sectors of manufacturing, information technology, healthcare, and business services. ODJFS is seeking qualified applicants that are a public community college, as defined in Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 3354.01, a state community college, as defined in ORC 3358.01, or a technical college, as defined in ORC 3357.01, and are experienced in partnering with employers to develop structured and systematic workforce development training plans.
