Responsible Fatherhood Grants
Document #:  JFSR1617178093B

Question:   Can the program manager also serve as the fiscal agent? Is there a targeted number of fathers that need to be served in the Level A grant?

Answer:   Yes, the program manager and fiscal agent may be the same person. There is no required number of fathers to be served in the RFGA but if you are a previously funded fatherhood program (i.e., a Level A applicant), you should plan to serve at least as many fathers as you had served under previous grants.

Question:   I read that organizations must choose between Level A and Level B. We were looking at 2 different programs in different regions - same organization. One would be a Level A, one would be a Level B. Is this permitted?

Answer:   You may submit two applications, one for each funding level unless you have been previously funded by ODJFS for your fatherhood program. Previously funded fatherhood programs are only eligible to apply for Level A.

Answer:   Several resources for fatherhood programs are listed in Appendix C of the RFGA. For information on how to write a grant application, the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood provided free training on this topic on Feb. 23, 2105. The Power Point is posted on the commission website, www.fatherhood.gov under the “Resources” tab. If you would like to be notified about future trainings, sign up to receive our newsletters on the OCF website.
